There are probably only two things that can make or break Dad’s outdoor adventures: (1) kids who have missed meal time or (2) the wrong shoes. We’ll let the meal time planning up to you but when it comes to outdoor shoes, no one knows them better than Jan. Here’s her quick take on footwear suggestions for Father’s Day.

Teva Chum: An awesome water shoe/sandal/shandal. Dad will love the fact that he can tighten them up or just slip them on. These shoes are great for every water sport Dad might want to do along the North Shore: kayaking, SUPing and canoeing. Or he can wear them on the Hjordis (his feet won’t get get wet on that lovely schooner, but he will definitely look sea-worthy).

TrekSta Evolution GTX: Fits like a minimalist with maximum protection. It’s water-proof, light-weight and hugs Dad’s foot–everything he needs for trail running on the Superior Hiking Trail.

Sanuk: The perfect chillin’ shoe. Dad will feel like he’s wearing slippers to dinner.
