The next generation from Nebo just got brighter!! Perhaps what is most remarkable about this flashlight is not the lumen power of the LED lamp, although plenty bright, rather what impressed me the most was how far this handheld was able to project the light. In fact, Nebo claims that this light can throw a beam 547 yards. Now I do not know whether or not this flashlight can light up my path 1/3 of a mile away, but I am sure the folks over a Birchbark Gifts can tell you it can light up their showroom from over three blocks away. The secret: Optimized Optics, or O², which narrows the beam via a series of specially shaped lenses. The result is effectively doubling the reach of the light, while conserving battery life. While the size may require modifications to one’s stocking this year, you can be sure this would be an excellent gift for this coming holiday season.
