With so many amazing outdoor destinations in Cook County, it’s hard to pick just one favorite. But that’s exactly what we asked our outdoor experts at Stone Harbor to do and here’s what they said.
Jan: Temperance River. It’s the least populated state park and there’s just something about the rocks and the intensity of the water.
Nickie: Britton Peak for mountain biking. It’s a brand new, really well-designed trail and it’s fun to ride.
Annette: I won’t tell you. It’s a secret and I want to keep it that way.
Beth: By canoe: Little Sag Lake. By kayak: Sag Lake. (That’s Saganaga, by the way.)
Jack: Partridge Falls. It’s the end of the road, very quiet and no people (well, except for this videographer).
Scott: Devil Track River. Great for steel heading. (By the way, if you think that Scott has a one-track mind when it comes to fishing, we’re not going to disagree with you.)
Chris: Cascade River Valley. It’s peaceful, quiet, and there are many, many miles of river to fish and swim.
Megan: Lutsen Mountains. (Yup, Megan is an outstanding skier.)
Phil: Eagle Mountain. He won’t say anything more about it, so I guess you’re going to have to check it out for yourself to see why it’s so great.
