Stuffing a Christmas stocking is engineering magic. It requires enough gifts to create a sense of wonder at all you were able to fit in that single sock. Yet one gift too many and it all comes tumbling down.

And finding the perfect gifts to fit in a stocking takes some creativity. The elves here at Stone Harbor did a little holiday hunting and they came up with this list of stocking stuffers to help you out:

• Socks!  Comfy, cozy merino wool socks by Darn Tough, Dahlgren, or Point 6 are the PERFECT stocking stuffer — hello, you’re stuffing a STOCKING after all.
• Hand and/or toe warmers. Forget the old maxim about cold hands, warm heart. Warm hands, happy hiker!

• Lip balm. Heal those cracked lips before you stand under the mistletoe.
• Spacecraft wallet. Celebrate a green Christmas with one of these beautiful wallets made of recycled materials.
• Bungee Dealee Bobs. With all the snow we’ve been getting lately, it’s tough to remember that canoe season WILL return and when it does, these gizmos come in handy for attaching your paddles to your canoe on those BWCAW portages.
• Survival bracelets. In an emergency, you can use these babies for shoelaces, tying splints, lashings, snares or tourniquets. You can even tease out the threads and use them for fishing lines or mending tents. Cue the MacGyver theme song.
• Knives. Anyone who spends time in the outdoors needs a knife and we’ve got a great selection of them.
