We are fielding many calls from people who are looking for Wintergreen outdoor clothing. At this point, we have two fleece jackets in red XL, a couple of XC ski jackets and windshirts. We also have some pants and a few kids’ articles and some hats and a pair of plunge mitts, but that is about it.

It is hard to replace an iconic brand like Wintergreen. It was a product of the northland made by Ely craftsmen and women with US-sourced materials. That is hard to find. Hopefully, somehow, someday they will return.

Meanwhile, we do have substitutes using the latest technology and materials. We have men’s and women’s fleece by companies like RAB, Mountain Hardware and Marmot. All of these companies also make shells, like the RAB Stretch Neo and Marmot Conness. We also have a really attractive Mountain Hardwear Monkey jacket that works as a nice alternative to Wintergreen’s fleece for women. We are experiencing shortages on some of these products, as folks are substituting them for the Wintergreen products and it is hard to find inventory in season. To give you an idea of how that is done, we are placing orders today for next winter, not this winter.

If you can’t find what you are looking for, we will do our best to special order whatever you need. For a small shipping fee, we can ship most anywhere.

And don’t worry–we won’t leave you out in the cold! If you can’t find a jacket or pants to keep you warm, we rent Wintergreen anorak shells, fleece and pants to use on all of your winter adventures here in northern Minnesota.
